Health Vault Devices & Windows Portable Driver format

A discussion of health vault devices can be found on channel 9. The WPD user mode driver on the client side deals with connecting to the device and converting the proprietary data format from the device to HealthVault data types.

It will be interesting to have a dicussion of what all do we need to make such a user mode client driver for Windows Mobile devices. Will it amount to that for every new health application on the mobile device we need to have a separate WPD client driver ?
